Welcome to my Blog!

Hi and thanks for stopping by! I'm Ashley and I'm bravely entering the world of seam allowances and fat quarters...better known as QUILTING! I recently decided I wanted to learn to sew. I bought my first sewing machine and fell in love! I made my first lap quilt, quickly throwing it together, not really knowing what I was doing. While it turned out very "pretty", I (the perfectionist) can quickly spot every detail that isn't perfect. So now I'm embarking on the quest of learning to quilt. I am following a great blog; "We Can Do It! Skill Builder Sampler" at Sewn by Leila's blog. I'll try to add a gadget in the side bar to link you. She started the sampler series in June, so I'm running a little behind but hope to catch up quickly. We will sew a new block per week through May 2012 and will end with 36 quilt blocks, enough to assemble a queen size quilt. I'm really looking forward to learning new skills and creating some really neat quilt blocks! So now, on to the blocks!
